Role: Accountant

Location: New York City

Overview:

A large, well-established NYC nonprofit is hiring an Accountant to support their finance team across grants and budgeting. This is a highly program-facing role working closely with internal teams and external funders to manage government-funded programs and ensure budgets and spending are aligned.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of grants or program budgets
• Partner with program teams to align spending with budget needs
• Work with NYC agencies and funders on invoicing and budget-related items
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and grant tracking
• Participate in internal and external meetings tied to funding and program support

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience within a NYC social services or nonprofit organization
• Experience working with NYC agencies (DHS, DOHMH, HRA, etc.)
• Experience with grant invoicing and/or budgeting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
