Senior Project Manager - Industrial Mechanical Insulation Job at RL Talent Partners, United States

  • RL Talent Partners
  • United States

Job Description

Our client, a national leader in specialty contracting and mechanical insulation services, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its established Oil & Gas Mechanical Insulation business.

This is a unique opportunity to step into an established book of Oil & Gas customers and projects as part of a planned succession. A long-tenured industry leader is preparing for retirement, creating an opportunity for an experienced mechanical insulation professional to transition into the existing business, build relationships with established customers, and gradually take ownership of the portfolio. You'll be stepping into established relationships and ongoing work rather than starting from scratch.

The role is primarily focused on project management and customer relationships. You'll serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, helping move projects from estimating and proposal development through execution, billing, and closeout. You'll coordinate closely with field teams, customers, and internal resources to keep projects on schedule, address issues as they arise, manage project financials, and ensure customers receive the level of service expected from a long-term partner.

If you're looking for an opportunity to take ownership of an established customer portfolio, work with a long-tenured industry leader during a planned transition, and build on an existing book of Oil & Gas mechanical insulation business, we encourage you to apply!

**NOTE: This is not a remote role. Candidates must be located near, or willing to relocate to, one of the company’s operating locations listed below.**

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an established portfolio of Oil & Gas mechanical insulation projects and customer accounts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building and maintaining long-term relationships throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinate with customers, field superintendents, foremen, and internal teams to keep projects moving according to schedule
  • Monitor project schedules, labor productivity, material costs, budgets, and margins; manage change orders and communicate project impacts to customers
  • Coordinate project documentation, submittals, invoicing, and closeout activities
  • Identify and address potential issues early, maintain customer confidence, and follow through on commitments
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional work through established customer relationships
  • Work closely with estimating, field operations, and corporate resources to support successful project execution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical insulation within industrial construction
  • Experience estimating and managing mechanical insulation projects from pursuit through completion
  • Experience supporting mechanical insulation projects (Oil & Gas, refinery, pipeline, compressor station, petrochemical, power generation, or similar industrial environments)

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: $100K–$120K base salary + performance-based incentive/bonus opportunity
